“I really was surprised how easy my therapy was with Dr Arkangel. I felt at ease even though I had to work on some difficult issues. I am so glad I made the call.”

Great Mental Health Care Should Be Affordable
At Archangel Therapy Group, we pride ourselves on making our mental health care services available to practically anyone on practically any budget. We refuse to let the cost of counseling and the fact that most insurance companies require counselors to give clients a mental health diagnosis that could impact future employment stop people from coming in.
As such, we offer simple, straight-forward pricing options that can be tailored to your specific needs and budgetary constraints. Just contact our team to learn more about how we can work with you to make your care affordable.
How Our Pricing Works
We get it – paying for your mental health care can be challenging. Here are some helpful answers to common questions that might make it all a little bit clearer.
We can take Health Savings and Flex Spending Account payment (HSA/FSAs). We accept payment via cash, Zelle, major credit cards, Paypal and Venmo. We prefer Zelle.
We can provide you with forms to submit for out of pocket insurance company reimbursement.
Frequently we will offer discount Packages for our cash pay clients. Look for packages on our Facebook page. Packages can save clients 10-25% off sessions.
We will work with you on cost if you have a hardship and are already an established client.
We require you to provide us with a credit card at the time you book your appointment. You will ONLY be charged if you no show or cancel with less than 24 hr notice two or more times. This policy is in place because people make appointments and do not show up or forget to call and cancel. As you can imagine, this is very difficult for our counselors. We do have secure HIPPA compliant credit cards system. The no show/late cancel charge is $50.00.
There are many reasons to consider going for private pay instead of using your insurance to cover your health care expenses. Those points are all outlined further down this page.
Under the law, health care organizations need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services.
-
You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. This includes related costs like medical tests, prescription drugs, equipment, and hospital fees.
-
Make sure your health care organization gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least 1 business day before your medical service or item. You can also ask your health care organization, and any other organization you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an item or service.
-
If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill.
-
Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.
For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises or call 1-800-985-3059.
While we strongly recommend cash pay or private pay, we do accept several insurances for your convenience. As of right now, these insurance providers are accepted:
- Optum
- UBH
- UHC
- Oscar
- Community First
- Superior
- Cigna
- Evernorth
Don’t see your insurance provider listed? Be sure to check back regularly, as we’re constantly adding new insurances that we accept.
Why Choose Private Pay?
Archangel Therapy Group is small boutique style private counseling practice, not a managed care driven mental health clinic. It is important to our philosophy to preserve the integrity of the counseling process and avoid conflicts with managed care. Our clients enjoy holding privacy of not allowing insurance companies to have access to their personal affairs as well as not holding a mental health diagnosis, which can sometimes be an issue when holding high security clearance government jobs, obtaining life insurance, or any other process that digs into your privacy.
If it would be helpful for you to have insurance to reduce the cost of therapy, Archangel Therapy Group is considered in-network for some insurance companies (see list above) and can be accepted as an out-of-network provider for almost all other insurance providers (except medicaid/medicare, which we do not accept at all). We encourage you to find out if your insurance covers out-of-network benefits. If so, we would be happy to provide you with a “Super Bill” to receive all or partial reimbursement for the cost of the therapy session. Full payment, however, will be collected at the time of your session.
You can also utilize your Flex Spending Account/Health Savings Account to pay for services. This helps save you money by using tax-free money to pay for services.
Why would I choose to pay privately instead of using my insurance?
-
No documentation of a mental illness
-
No limits to sessions
-
Can receive therapy if I’m not “mentally ill”
-
People have less access to your personal information
